Their EP titled ‘Edges of a dream” features their debut single ‘Daydreaming’ which has received extensive radio play on East Coast Radio and Mr Price Radio station, Red Cap Radio. The Ep is a mix of sounds ranging from in your face rock to chilling on a beach kinda vibe.

The best band from this event gets invited to compete in the national finals taking place at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on Sunday, October 4. The best band at the national finals plays themselves to recording time at Radio Broadcast Facilities (the recording studio at the SABC), a R10 000 cash prize from Emperors Palace and musical equipment from Enhanced Media Systems.

MUNKISHYNE is a new clothing label started in Ballito by Dustin Scott. The designs are a product of him wanting to make his mark and provide good quality clothing at an affordable price.

We can’t contain our excitement anymore and want to share our exciting news with all of you guys who show your support over and over again.

So here it is…after only one day of receiving the mastered version of ‘Daydreaming’ it has made its way on to Red Cap Radio’s playlist.

For those of you that don’t know Red Cap Radio is Mr Price’s in store radio station which broadcasts across the whole of South Africa. Currently Red Cap Radio reaches about 1.5 million listeners in a 7 day cycle. This increases over peak periods such as holidays ect. As their demographics have shown, they reach a really diverse country. They broadcast from 8am – 7pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 9pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9am – 7pm on a Sunday.

Red Cap Radio is currently based in the Mr Price Head Office in Durban but  travel around the country doing various broadcasts. They play almost every genre of music, from Jack Johnson and Farryl Purkiss to Incubus, Mary J Blige to Ludacris. They are VERY passionate about promoting South African bands and events taking place – so they are always on the look out for SA tracks.

We have finally found the time to get back infront of a PC to say hello and get you back in the loop of the happenings of Red Light Stereo.

As many students will know, varstiy is back in full swing and casualties include Dylan and Lliam, alas this has failed at stopping the RLS train that is ploughing ahead at full steam.

This weekend we were privileged to play with one of, if not the top South African band ever, the Parlotones. The gig was up in Merrivale at Pecanwood and man was it one to remember. The people that attended were there to support and they did it whole heartedly, we will never think twice about playing for you guys again, you were totally awesome.

Although things are going slow at 3am studios, slow and steady wins the race, and we are convinced that the result will be nothing short of a winner! Mixing is nearly complete and then its off to Joburg for mastering.

The photoshoot went well and was loads of fun, thanks to the Photographer Thomas Rigby. To see some of the shots check out the media section!
